SOURCE: Family data, Robert Adams, Sr. Family Bible, The Old Testament Translated Out of the Original Hebrew, and With the Former Translation Diligently Compared and Revised. Together with the Apocrypha. Done by the Special Command of King James I. of England (Philadelphia: Mathew Carey, 1818 [date is smudged and hard to read]). The Robert Adams, Sr. Family Bible, original photographs of Robert Adams, Sr., as well as his wife, Rebecca (Blackmore) Adams, and original photographs of the Adams family home (later lived in by Sayers descendants) seem to have passed from Robert Adams, Sr. to his daughter Jane (Adams) Sayers’s eldest son, Henry Clay Sayers, Sr. [1840-1926], to his son Henry Clay Sayers, Jr. [1872-1945] to his daughter Wilma (Sayers) (Wisecarver) Milliken [1899-2005] who donated the Bible and photographs to the Greene County Historical Society (918 Rolling Meadows Road, P.O. Box 127; Waynesburg, Pennsylvania 15370). Helen (Denny) Howard, a third great-granddaughter of Robert & Rebecca (Blackmore) Adams, made photograph reproductions of the Robert Adams, Sr. Family Bible data pages as well as the photographs of Robert Adams, Sr. and Rebecca (Blackmore) Adams, while they were in the possession of Wilma (Sayers) (Wisecarver) Milliken. Helen’s photograph reproductions were inherited by Farley Toothman who donated them to the Cornerstone Genealogical Society (144 E. Greene St., PO Box 547; Waynesburg, Pennsylvania 15370). Transcribed by Candice Buchanan, 2006. Entries are presented here as they appear in the original document. Notations regarding some, though not all, spelling errors are made in brackets [ ]. Please report any errors in transcription to Candice.
