"Dr. Charles W. Adams, son of Rev. Jesse H. and Jane K. Adams, deceased, died Thursday afternoon, July 11, in the Uniontown hospital, aged 76 years. His death was due to heart failure. Dr. Adams was born at Clarksville, Greene county, December, 1853. In early youth he moved with his parents to Waynesburg where he completed his education in the public schools and Waynesburg college. Deciding on medicine as a profession, he taught school for several years, then entered Columbus Medical College at Columbus, Ohio, and was graduated with the class of 1879. He located at Shealleyville, Mercer county, for six years. In 1885 he moved to Western Kansas and was elected Register of Wills of Meade county in that state. In 1888 he returned east and located at Jefferson, Ohio, and resumed the practice of medicine. In 1903 he moved to Uniontown, Pa., where he soon had a large practice. While at Jefferson, Ohio, he was a member of the U. S. Pension board, and was a member of the Fayette county and State Medical societies and a member of the Uniontown hospital staff. Dr. Adams was married twice, his first wife being Miss Nannie J. McQueston, who died in 1924. His second wife was Mrs. Cora Gleason, who survives. One sister, Mrs. Mary J. McNay, Waynesburg, and two brothers, Attorney J. B. Adams, Uniontown, and Jesse H. Adams, Waynesburg, also survive. Dr. Adams was a friend of all who knew him and it was often said by his many friends that he was the most generous hearted man they ever knew."
