"Mrs. Elizabeth Allison Blachley died at her home at the corner of High and Morris streets, this place, Friday last at 11:05 p.m. Mrs. Blachley was the daughter of William Allison, deceased, of this place, and a sister of Mrs. Louisa Oglevee; three sisters and one brother being dead. She was an aunt of Mrs. James Inghram, Mrs. Ella Rinehart, Mrs. Jas. E. Sayers, Mrs. J. T. Rogers and W. L. Allison, this place, and A. B. Allison, of Washington City. She was married in 1846 to Dr. Spencer Blachley, a brother of Dr. Stephen L. Blachley, of Sparta, and uncle of H. S. Blachley, of this place. Dr. Blachley died in 1853. Mrs. Blachley's illness had lasted two years. She was possessed of a most kind disposition, and having always been a resident of our town her circle of friends included nearly every family here. Her cheerful manner and pleasant words made her presence always welcome. She was generous, giving to those who needed aid. For many years she had been a faithful member of the Presbyterian church and was an earnest christian woman. Her death is felt in our whole community. The funeral services were held on Sabbath at 3 p.m., conducted by Rev. Nevin. The remains were laid to rest in Green Mount Cemetery."
