"Mrs. Catherine Anderson Watson, aged 84 years, wife of Robert Watson, died at their home in Holbrook, Thursday evening, January 12, at 7:30 o'clock. Her death was due to pneumonia with which she was ill for a week. Mrs. Watson was a daughter of John and Anna Anderson, and was born near Ten Mile, Washington county, September 30, 1848. She was united in marriage with Robert Watson, December 30, 1869, and soon after their marriage they went to housekeeping in Holbrook, where they had since resided. She was the last of her family and was the mother of nine children. Besides her husband five children survive, Samuel S. Watson, Waynesburg; John I. Watson and Mrs. Robert Throckmorton, Holbrook; Rev. George W. Watson, Miami, Florida; Dr. Joseph W. Watson, Jeannette. There are also 16 grandchildren and eleven great-grandchildren. Mrs. Watson was an active and devout member of the Holbrook Christian church. The funeral services were held Sunday afternoon in the Holbrook church, conducted by the pastor, Rev. Larue Brown. Interment in Rosemont cemetery."
