Description / Citation: Crayon
enlargement of Melville Dunreath Miller [1882-1950] and his first wife,
Jessie Wilmetta (Rasel) Miller [1884-1916]. Original, professional photograph,
no photographer listed. The photograph was most likely passed from Melville
Dunreath Miller [1882-1950] and his first wife, Jessie Wilmetta Rasel [1884-1916],
to their daughter Iva Marie Miller [1909-2006], and her husband, Porter
Ellis Herrod [1903-1970], to their son Jack Ellis Herrod [1929-2008] and
his wife, Martha Jean Pettit, who owned the photograph in 2006. Shared
by Jack's grandniece Candice Lynn Buchanan with the Greene Connections:
Greene County, Pennsylvania Photo Archives Project in 2008. The Miller-Herrod
Series is a part of the Candice Lynn Buchanan Collection.
