BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF MARGARET LEAH (WADDELL) BAKER

Margaret Leah (Waddell) Baker descends from the Crago, Divers, Hedge, Hoge, Hughes, Rinehart, Spencer, Waddell, Woods and related families of Greene County, Pennsylvania.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The Margaret Leah (Waddell) Baker Collection includes one painted portrait, one ambrotype, two carte-de-visite size photograph albums and numerous tintypes, cartes-de-visite and cabinet cards.

The collection has been divided into three series: Album 1, Album 2 and Various. The two album series have been maintained in original order. The Various Series was initially arranged by family; however, additional photographs continue to be added to the end of this series as they are shared for scanning. Consequently, it is best to use the BAKM Collection Index to look for specific individuals or subjects.

*The Album 1 Series (Catalogue Code: AN001) photographs are in a Carte-de-Visite size photograph album that may have once belonged to Abigail (Woods) Hoge [1835-1932] - wife of George Hoge [1832-1884], daughter of Samuel Woods [1803-1887] & Leah Divers [1805-1885]. The album appears to have been passed from Abigail (Woods) Hoge [1835-1932] to her daughter Margaret Leah (Hoge) Crago [1872-1966], after which it is known to have passed to her daughter Leah Abigail (Crago) Waddell [1902-1962] and then to her daughter Margaret Leah (Waddell) Baker who owned and shared the photographs with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Photo Archives Project between 2006 and 2008.
