BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF MARIAH “MAE” (KENT) FINCH

Mariah "Mae" (Kent) Finch was born 14 October 1875 in Franklin Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania. She was one of ten children born to Spencer B. Kent and his wife, Elizabeth Jacobs. On 28 September 1895, Mae was united in marriage with Milton Bryan Finch, the son of William Finch and his wife, Lucinda Smith. Together they raised eight children. Mae passed away on 3 January 1969 at the age of 93.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The Mariah "Mae" (Kent) Finch Collection photographs were passed from Spencer B. Kent [1842-1919] and his wife, Elizabeth Jacobs [1844-1885], to their daughter Mariah "Mae" Kent [1875-1969] and her husband, Milton Bryan Finch [1871-1941], to their children Thomas Finch [1906-1988] and Doris Aldine Finch [1908-2001]. Thomas's photographs were passed to his daughter Shirley (Finch) Collins; Doris's photographs were passed to her grandnephew Michael Collins. Shirley (Finch) Collins and Michael Collins owned and shared the photographs with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Photo Archives Project in 2007.
