BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF JANE (DAY) HUSTON

Jane (Day) Huston [1908-1993] was the daughter of Lewis Edwin Day and his wife, Frances Lippencott. Her paternal grandparents were William G. W. Day and Jane Elizabeth “Jennie” (Minor) Day; her maternal grandparents were William Henry Lippencott and Ruth (Gregory) Lippencott.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The Jane (Day) Huston Collection photographs were passed from Jane Elizabeth "Jennie" (Minor) Day [1836-1905] to her son Lewis Edwin Day [1877-1946] to his daughter Jane (Day) Huston [1908-1993] to her daughter Dona Jane (Huston) Jones who owned and shared the photographs with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Photo Archives Project between 2008 and 2009. The collection includes a Carte-de-Visite photograph album maintained in original order (see Album 1 Series) and a large, framed photograph (see Minor Series). Additional photos continue to be added as they are shared for scanning. For best results, use the DAYA Collection Index to look for specific individuals or subjects.

*The Album 1 Series (Catalogue Code: AN001) photographs are in an 1870s Carte-de-Visite size photograph album that may have once belonged to Jane Elizabeth "Jennie" (Minor) Day [1836-1905] - wife of William G. W. Day [1828-1888], daughter of Lawrence Lewis Minor Sr. [1801-1883] & Maria Chambers Hays [1807-1890].
