BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF LUCY AUGUSTA (TAYLOR) KUGHN Lucy Augusta (Taylor) Kughn was born 1 August 1897 in Wadestown, Battelle District, Monongalia County, West Virginia, the daughter of James Ellsworth Taylor [1866-1940] and his wife, Sarah (Anderson) Taylor [1874-1961]. On 10 March 1917 in Monongalia County, West Virginia, she was united in marriage with Jonathan Lester Kughn [1895-1950]. They were the parents of three sons: Melvin, Chester and Paul. Lucy passed away at the age of 85, on 6 December 1982 at St. Joseph's Hospital, Ann Arbor, Washtenaw County, Michigan. She is buried with several generations of her family at Wadestown Cemetery, Wadestown, Battelle District, Monongalia County, West Virginia. SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE The Lucy Augusta (Taylor) Kughn Collection photographs were passed from Lucy Augusta (Taylor) Kughn [1897-1982] to her granddaughter Carol (Kughn) Goodroe [daughter of Chester William Kughn] who owned and shared the photographs with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Photo Archives Project in 2006 The collection has been divided into two series: Kughn and Taylor. The series were initially arranged by family; however, additional photos continue to be added to the end of the series as they are shared for scanning.
