BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF WILLIAM FRANCIS JACOBS

William Francis Jacobs was born 14 October 1902 in Greene County, Pennsylvania, the third of twelve children born to Joseph Warren Jacobs and Mary Emma (Dulaney) Jacobs. He was married to Audrey Muriel Lamb.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The William Francis Jacobs Collection photographs were passed from Joseph Warren Jacobs [1868-1947] and his wife, Mary Emma Dulaney [1878-1958], to their son William Francis Jacobs and his wife, Audrey Muriel Lamb, to their son David Kent Jacobs who owned and shared the photographs with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Photo Archives Project in 2006. Each generation added to the collection with photographs from their own family and in-laws.

The collection has been divided into two series: Family and Friends. The series were initially arranged by family; however, additional photos continue to be added to the end of the series as they are shared for scanning. Consequently, it is best to use the JACD Collection Index to look for specific individuals or subjects.

Photographs in this collection with unidentified or unverified subjects are as follows, if you can help to identify them, please email Candice Buchanan: # JACD_AN002_0024.

*Family Series (Catalogue Code: AN001). In addition to photographs of relatives, this series includes a photograph of Benjamin F. Dulaney’s store (Item # JACD_AN001_0019).

*Friends Series (Catalogue Code: AN002). This series includes a number of Waynesburg High School students and athletic teams. Also included are three photographs of the Downey House Fire which took place in Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania on 23 December 1925 (Item # JACD_AN002_0045 through # JACD_AN002_0047.)
