PUBLICATIONS COLLECTION
OVERVIEW OF THE COLLECTION Creator: Candice
Buchanan
SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE The Publications Collection consists of photographs extracted from newspapers, books, pamphlets, and other published materials that are now in the public domain. Each image is fully documented to credit the original publication and author (when known). Additional research has been done through the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Photo Archives Project in order to provide more complete captioning and other information useful to genealogists and local historians. All publications selected for inclusion contain photographic material relevant to the history and people of Greene County, Pennsylvania. The series and subseries were initially arranged by topic and then by chronology; however, additional series continue to be added to the end of the list as they are shared for scanning. Unless otherwise noted, all photographs appear in the original order in which they were presented in the publication. For best results, use the PUBL Collection Index to look for specific individuals or subjects. *The Civil War Series (Catalogue Code: AN001) contains publications that feature photographs of Civil War soldiers and veterans. Subseries: Memorial Day 1908 Souvenir Program (Catalogue Code: 0001) includes photographs of soldiers who lost their lives during the war as well as a range of veteran photographs.
