BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF JOSEPHINE (RHODES) RAYBURN

Josephine (Rhodes) Rayburn was born 4 April 1909, to Harry James Rhodes [1876-1957] and his wife, Mary "Mamie" Keigley [1873-1944]. She was married 10 April 1942 to John M. Rayburn Jr., son of John M. Rayburn Sr. and his wife, Daisy E. Milligan. Together they raised three daughters: Joanne (Rayburn) Jants, Sara "Sally" Rayburn, and Priscilla Rayburn.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The Josephine (Rhodes) Rayburn Collection photographs were passed from Harry James Rhodes [1876-1957] and his wife, Mary "Mamie" Keigley [1873-1944], to their daughter Josephine (Rhodes) Rayburn [1909-2000] and her husband, John M. Rayburn Jr. [1905-1997], to their daughters, Joanne (Rayburn) Jants, Sara "Sally" Rayburn, and Priscilla Rayburn, who owned and shared the photographs with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Photo Archives Project between 2005 and 2008. Each generation added to the collection with photographs from their own family and in-laws.

The collection has been divided into four series: Rhodes, Eaton, Keigley, and Rayburn. The series were initially arranged by family; however, additional photos continue to be added to the end of the series as they are shared for scanning. For best results, use the RAYB Collection Index to look for specific individuals or subjects.

*The Rhodes Series (Catalogue Code: AN001) photographs feature descendants of Josiah Woods Rhodes [1852-1915] and his wife, Anna Emma Eaton [1856-1944].

*The Eaton Series (Catalogue Code: AN002) photographs feature descendants of James Eaton and his wife, Amelia Weaver.

*The Keigley Series (Catalogue Code: AN003) photographs feature descendants of George M. Keigley [1831-1890] and his wife, Samilda J. Rose [1845-1921].
