BIOGRAPHICAL SKETCH OF SARAH VIRGINIA (ELMS) SIMPSON

Sarah Virginia (Elms) Simpson was born 3 June 1895 in Waynesburg, Greene County, Pennsylvania. She was the first of two daughters born to George Harvey Elms and his first wife, Evaline Florence Morris. Sarah was united in marriage with Frederic Wheeler Simpson 25 June 1919 in Waynesburg. They became the parents of nine children before Sarah’s early death 10 May 1934 at the age of 38.

SCOPE AND CONTENT NOTE

The Sarah Virginia (Elms) Simpson Collection photographs were passed from George Harvey Elms [1863-1947] and his first wife, Evaline Florence Morris [1861-1902] to their daughter Sarah Virginia (Elms) Simpson [1895-1934] to her daughter Eva Mae (Simpson) Grim who with her niece Cicely Stewart-Kunsman owned and shared the photographs with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Photo Archives Project between 2004 and 2006.

The photographs in this collection were initially arranged by family; however, additional photos continue to be added to the end of the collection as they are shared for scanning. For best results, use the STEC Collection Index to look for specific individuals or subjects.
