"Mrs. Martha Biggins, wife of Thomas Biggins, died at their home on East Lincoln street, Friday afternoon, June 6, aged 69 years, of a complication of diseases. Mrs. Biggins was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Hughes, deceased, of Rices Landing. She was a member of the St. Anne Roman Catholic church and was most highly esteemed. Beside her husband she is survived by two children, Miss Alice Biggins, at home, and Edward Biggins, assistant superintendent of the Gulf Refining company, Port Arthur, Texas. The following brothers and sister also survive: Lindsey Hughes, of Uniontown; James Hughes and Mrs. S. R. Crockard, of Rices Landing, and Mrs. Thomas Sharpnack, of Brownsville. The funeral services were held in the St. Anne Catholic church, Tuesday morning at 10 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. Dennis Maloney. Interment in the St. Anne cemetery."
