Description / Citation: Photograph
of Thomas Kent's tombstone in the old Methodist Cemetery, East Waynesburg,
Greene County, Pennsylvania, the inscription reads: "In / Memory / of /
Thomas Kent / Who departed this life / January 8, 1835 / Aged 81 years."
The cemetery was abandoned in the early 1960s; the site is now occupied
by a housing project. A memorial to those known to have been buried in
this cemetery stands in Section P, Lot 99 of Green Mount Cemetery, Waynesburg.
Thomas Kent and his wife, Ann (Ralston) Kent were removed from the old
Methodist Cemetery on 18 September 1934 and reinterred at Greene County
Memorial Park Cemetery in Morgan Township, Greene County, Pennsylvania.
Original, candid. The William Francis Jacobs Collection photographs were
passed from Joseph Warren Jacobs [1868-1947] and his wife, Mary Emma Dulaney
[1878-1958], to their son William Francis Jacobs and his wife, Audrey Muriel
Lamb, to their son David Kent Jacobs who owned and shared the photographs
with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Photo Archives
Project in 2006. Each generation added to the collection with photographs
from their own family and in-laws.
