"Mrs. Cecelia Kent Bryan, widow of Weeden J. Bryan, deceased, died at her home in Richhill township, Tuesday, September 3, aged 89 years. Her death was unexpected as she had been in her usual health and it was a shock to her family and friends. Mrs. Bryan was born near Waynesburg, Sept. 9, 1829, and had spent her entire life in Greene county. On March 2, 1849, she was united in marriage with Weeden J. Bryan, whose death occurred in November, 1907. To this union one child was born, Mrs. Elizabeth B. Loller, who died a few years ago. Mrs. Bryan was a member of the Christian church and took a great interest in church affairs. She is survived by one granddaughter, Mrs. John L. Blair, of Richhill township, and four great-grandchildren. One brother, S. B. Kent, of Waynesburg, also survives. The funeral services were held Thursday afternoon at 1 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. J. P. Allison, of Waynesburg. Interment was made in the family burying ground." |
