9 October 1902, page 1, column 8. (Transcribed by Candice Buchanan.) "Mrs. Henry Jacobs died at her home on South Washington street, at 6 a. m., Sunday morning. She had been afflicted with paralysis, but the cause of her death was dropsy. She was past seventy years of age and was a woman esteemed by her neighbors and acquaintances. Her maiden name was Kent, being survived by two brothers, Spencer Kent, of Waynesburg, and William, of Bristoria, and two sisters, Mrs. Lindsey Thomas, of Waynesburg, and Mrs. Weeden J. Bryan, of Ryerson's Station. An aged husband and six sons are also left to mourn her demise: Matthew and Albert, of Allegheny; Frank, Warren and Charles of Waynesburg, and George M., of the state of Washington. The funeral was held on Tuesday at 2 p. m., services being conducted by Rev. Steele of the M. P. church. Interment in Green Mount cemetery, N. W. Carter, funeral director." |
