"Mr. B. F. Morrow died at his home at Cameron on Thursday evening, after an illness of many months. He suffered several strokes of paralysis and has been cared for by a trained nurse for more than a year. His daughter, Mrs. Church, resided with him, and he was the object of much devotion from his children and grandchildren. The deceased was born in Green [sic Greene] County, PA., in 1840 and resided there for several years with his parents, Nathan and Elizabeth Morrow. While quite young he came to Marion county, and spent a number of years here.

He served during the entire Civil War, being a member of Co. F, Twelfth Infantry and was held in the highest esteem by his comrades. He was in some of the bloodiest and most fiercely contested battles of the war, such as Winchester, Cedar Creek, Petersburg, Richmond and finally it was his privilege to stand with the victorious army at Appamattox Court House and see Lee hand his sword over to Gen. Grant."
