"Mrs. Mary Catherine Ross, aged 77 years, widow of Jesse L. Ross, died suddenly yesterday afternoon, Sept. 29, at 4 o'clock at her home in East High street. Mrs. Ross had been in her customary health and her sudden passing came as a shock to her family and many friends. A daughter of Harvey and Mary A. Struble Donahoo, she was born September 27, 1859, at Coshocton, Ohio, but had spent practically all her life in Waynesburg, coming here when she was about 12 years of age. She was united in marriage with the late Jesse L. Ross, for many years a prominent Waynesburg druggist, whose death occurred November 3, 1932. Mrs. Ross had been a member of the St. Ann's Roman Catholic Church for the past 65 years. She is survived by two daughters, Jane, wife of W. K. Reed, and Helen, wife of Roy E. Furman, both of Waynesburg, and one son, John H. Ross, of Waynesburg, R. D. 5. Also surviving are six grandchildren and one brother, Edward Donahoo, of Lincoln, Neb. Funeral services will be held Friday morning at 10 o'clock in St. Ann's Catholic Church, East High street with requiem mass being conducted by the Rev. Fr. George P. Angel. Interment will be in the St. Ann's Cemetery." |
