from Israel Forman, Main Street, Fairmont, W. Va. The Toothman-Hoult
Series probably
began with Martha Jane (Hoult) Toothman [1850-1931], wife of Thornton
Jacob
Toothman [1847-1896], and daughter of John Cunningham Hoult &
Susanna
Bare. Martha’s photographs likely passed to her daughter, Margaret Lee
(Toothman) Wilson [1882-1970] and her husband, Fred Martin Wilson
[1877-1967],
who never had children and consequently passed the photographs to
Margaret’s
grandnephew Glenn Jacob Roy Thornton Toothman, Jr. [1920-2001] and his
wife, Katherine Jane (Throckmorton) Toothman who owned and shared the
photographs
with the Greene Connections: Greene County, Pennsylvania Photo Archives
Project in 2005. Each generation added to the collection with
photographs
from their own family and in-laws. The Toothman-Hoult Series is a part
of the Katherine Jane (Throckmorton) Toothman Collection.
