"William B. McConnell, Esq., nephew of Hon. R. A. McConnell, and graduate of Waynesburg College, and who now resides in Dakota Territory came to town on last Saturday. He is on his way from the National Capitol, having been there for some time working to get his Territory divided and admitted as two states into the Union, but his brother Democrats defeated the bill."
