"Mrs. Elizabeth Reese Owen died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. J. M. House, East Greene street, Saturday morning, October 20, aged 86 years. Mrs. Owen was born and reared in Washington county, her parents being among the early pioneer settlers. She had spent the past fifty years in Waynesburg. Mrs. Owen was a life-long member of the Waynesburg Baptist church and was a regular attendant at all church services. She was highly esteemed by all who knew her. Four children survive: Mrs. House, with whom she made her home; Mrs. John Purman, of Homestead; Mrs. Amelia Sharp, of Washington, Pa., and Miss Louie A. Owen, of Pittsburg. The funeral services were held on Monday at 2 p. m., conducted by the Rev. A. S. Kelly. Interment in Green Mount cemetery."
