SOURCE: Sarah Dill Rinehart obituary, Waynesburg Republican, Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, 1 June 1893, page 1, column 6.
"Mrs. Sarah Dill Rinehart died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. P. J. Bartleson, Sharpsville, Pa., Friday morning, May 26, aged about 80 years. Mrs. Rinehart was the widow of the late Jesse Rinehart, deceased. She had, we believe, spent all her life in Waynesburg with the exception of the last year or two. She had been a member of the Methodist Episcopal church, of this place, for fifty-five years and was one of its faithful and most devoted members at every service. She was always of a cheerful and happy disposition and possessed great kindness of heart. By many noble qualities she endeared herself to everyone, both old and young. Beside her daughter, Mrs. Bartleson, she leaves a son, George Rinehart, and daughter-in-law, Mrs. Henry A. Rinehart, of this place. Mrs. Hannah Minor, Mrs. A. G. Cross and Thomas Rinehart were her step-children. The remains were brought here Saturday evening. The funeral was held Sabbath afternoon at the M. E. church. Owing to the absence of Rev. Patterson, the services were conducted by Revs. W. G. Nevin and Dr. J. L. Goodknight. A large number of sorrowing friends followed the remains to Green Mount cemetery, where the interment was made." |
