SOURCE: Lavina Strawn obituary, Waynesburg Republican, Waynesburg, Pennsylvania, 27 February 1883, page 3, column 3.
"Mrs. Lavina Strawn Wife of John Strawn, after a few day's sickness, died at her home on the South Side, on Thursday morning last, aged 35 years. The deceased leaves a husband and two children and other near relatives. She was a consistent member of the Baptist church, a lady of many good qualities, and in her last hours assured those about her that death had no sting, and that the hope in which she relied grew stronger and brighter as her vital powers grew weaker. The funeral took place on Friday last, services being conducted at the house by her pastor Rev. W. M. Ryan and Rev. E. K. Squier, D. D., after which the remains were interred in Green Mount cemetery." |
