"Death Removes Aged Waynesburg Woman Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 in the First Baptist church of Waynesburg for Mrs. Nancy Rebecca Strawn, aged 84, widow of Samuel G. Strawn, who died at 5 o'clock Sunday evening, July 15, 1934, in the home of her niece, Mrs. Annie B. Patterson, of Waynesburg. Burial will be in Green Mount cemetery. Mrs. Strawn was born December 17, 1849, at Enon, this county, a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Morrison Jones, and was married October 31, 1872, to Samuel G. Strawn. The family moved to Washington in 1892, where they resided until Mr. Strawn's death, June 8, 1917, when Mrs. Strawn came to Waynesburg to make her home. She had been blind for the past 15 years. Mrs. Strawn was a member of the Baptist church. Three children, Colver, Eva Jane, and Fred, are deceased. She leaves two grandchildren, Lawrence S. Strawn, of Washington, and Floyd Strawn, of Cleveland, Ohio; three great-grandchildren, and one brother, Isaac Jones, of Polson, Montana." |
