Family papers for Margaret
Leonice (Needham) Still
Diary of Leroy Woods Cleavenger - Leroy kept this journal betweeen April and June of 1857. His entries capture daily life in the Waynesburg area and make many references to his teachers, neighbors, friends and the girls who caught his youthful eye. One of the most common subjects he records is the evolution of a crush on Margaret Leonice Needham who was a student at Waynesburg College at the time. The diary was discovered in Margaret's possessions in 2003 by her great-granddaughter Bonnie (Watts) Cook. The very last entry in the diary (see Epilogue) appears to have been added years later by Margaret, in it she recorded her tribute to Leroy.
