"James G. Adams died at his home in Atoka, Oklahoma, Sunday, March 3, aged 74 years. He had been in failing health for some time and his death was not unexpected. Mr. Adams was a son of Rev. Jesse and Jane Kerr Adams, deceased. He was born in Venango county, Pa., and removed with his parents to this county in 1865. For several years he conducted a grocery store in Waynesburg, removing to Tennessee in 1903, where he resided until two years ago, when he purchased a ranch in Oklahoma and had engaged in cattle raising. Mr. Adams was a member of the Cumberland Presbyterian church of Waynesburg and for several years was an elder in the church. He is survived by two daughters, Miss Lucy Adams, of Portland, Ore., and Mrs. Nellie Pomeroy, of Atoka, Okla. The following brothers and sister also survive: John Adams, of San Saba, Texas; Dr. C. W., and J. B. Adams, of Uniontown; Finis E. Adams, of Atoka, Okla.; Jesse Adams and Mrs. Mary J. McNay, of Waynesburg. The remains were brought to Waynesburg and the funeral services were held in the Presbyterian parish house, Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock, conducted by the Rev. R. M. Patterson. Interment in Green Mount cemetery."
