Information / Research Interests): PERSONAL INFORMATION: My parents were Thomas Finch and Lucille Lynch. He was born in Greene Co. and she was born in Monongalia CO. WV near St. Leo, but the Lynch ancestors were from the Butler PA area. Tom was the son of Milton B. Finch and Mae (Mariah) Kent, daughter of Spencer Kent. H OW I GOT STARTED”: My grandmother, Mae Kent Finch, was very proud of her Kent heritage and talked about it often. Our family always attended the Kent reunion. When I first got on the internet I looked for information about Thomas Kent, then put a query on GenForum. I was encouraged by the many responses so I queried Samuel Finch. I became a member of Cornerstone Genealogical Society and became a volunteer there. I found Finch history at the Cornerstone and through answers to queries on GenForum. My son has been gathering information about our family history for years. He and I have found many ancestor grave stones in Greene Co., northern PA, WV, and a few in eastern PA. I would like to find out when my Finch ancestor came to America. |
