I was introduced to genealogy by J. Gross Dinsmore in 1977 and have been a "taker of names" since. I found that the study of genealogy is perhaps the best way to study and gain understanding of the history of rural places. I began with my Headley and Headlee lineage and entered information from family tree publications dated 1905, 1955, and 1989.  Later I branched out by tracking the families of wives and daughters.  I became fascinated by the thousands of  families that converged here, the marriages that created "Greene County cousins" and the people who went on to populate our great country.  As much as possible I like to contact living descendants and seek confirmation from closer family members. The information I have collected covers 12 generations and includes over 4000 surnames. I have not posted my files to the Internet because I constantly cross-check and and update sources.  I enjoy correspondence and information sharing.  Initial contact with me should be by E-mail.
