Information / Research Interests):
I was blessed to grow up in a family of storytellers
who loved to share their memories and personal life experiences, and I
have always loved to hear them. As a teenager I began to preserve the
stories and collect family photos and have continued to do that all of
my life. My parents, David Oscar and Sara Lee Fordyce Johnson, were
always willing partners in my genealogy quests, and my husband Ray
shares my pursuits as well. In 1976 as a Bicentennial project and a
tribute to our ancestors, my mother and I proved our lineage to a
Revolutionary War veteran, Joseph Fox, and joined National Pike
Chapter, Daughters of the American Revolution. We also were able to
join Three Rivers Chapter, Colonial Dames, Seventeenth Century through
our connection to John Throckmorton, and I am also a member of the
National Society Magna Charta Dames. After a hiatus from genealogical
research for several years, I am now hoping to put our family history
into a user-friendly format for my nieces and nephews and to keep
gathering all the information that I can find. |
