Connections
(Biographical Information / Research Interests): My great-grandmother, Edna Claudia Barmore (Gregg), was a Greene County native and Waynesburg College graduate (1897). She inherited many of the photographs from her family (Barmore-Harvey) and the family of her husband, Albert Myers Gregg, an 1898 Waynesburg graduate. About 1940, after her husband and parents had passed away and her children were grown, she returned to Greene County and took photographs of former family homes and gravestones. She included these photographs as part of a very detailed Gregg-Barmore family history, which she made copies of for each of her four children, including my grandfather, John Corbly Gregg. I have enjoyed enhancing her original research with an ancestry.com family tree, filling in many of the gaps in the genealogy and tracing it back well before the arrival of my ancestors in Greene County in the late 18th century. I am looking forward to my first visit to Greene County in May 2010. |
