| Greene County, Pennsylvania Connections (Biographical Information / Research Interests): I was involved in health services research and my non-profit organization was loosely affiliated with the Rand Corporation. I had online access at work and learned from a colleague at Rand that I could join their newly emerging genealogy club, called RootsWeb. I had inherited a genealogy book written about my Hormell family, and my Aunt who knew the family history had just died so it seemed appropriate for me to automate what my Aunt had compiled and to honor her by continuing the research. Soon I was more interested in genealogy than in continuing my professional career so I retired. I'm interested in the sociology of communities, particularly the role religion played in the selection of locations and life partners. |
